A Sitz bath is comfortable and easy way to soak and cleanse the perineum providing relief from pain and itching after labour.
The Sitz bath easily attaches to most standard sized toilets and features built in overflow drainage holes for less mess! You can either fill your Sitz bath with cold or warm water (up to 42℃) or you can use the spray head to gentle shower your sensitive bits. You can add sitz bath salt blends if needed - please ensure you're following the package instructions on the saltz bath blend or listening to the advise from your healthcare professional.
The overflow drainage holes make it easy to drain & clean - with the convenient hook hole at the back you can easily hang the bath to dry.

How to Use:
Unfold the sitz bath by pushing down on the base firmly. This might be stiff for the first few times but will get easier with use.
Lift the lid and seat of your toilet and place the sitz bath on the toilet. Add cold or warm water (up to 42℃). Do not use water too hot to burn you! Don’t worry about over filling the sitz bath as it has built in overflow drainage holes that disperse excess water directly into your toilet. No more messy bathtubs or toilet seats!
Make sure the water temperature is comfortable and that the water level is high enough to cover your perineum when you sit down. Gently ease yourself down into the water.
You can add sitz bath salt blends if needed and follow their instructions for use or just fill the bath with plain water or a solution recommended by your health professional.
The sitz bath also comes with a small spray head which sits in the bottom of the bath and can direct a gentle shower of water upward to your sore bits. If you’re using this feature feed the tube of the spray head through one of the overflow drainage holes, connect to the spray head and affix the head in place. Sit, soak, relax and add more water as needed.
Soak for around 10mins unless you have stitches. If you have stitches We recommend soaking for no-longer than a couple of minutes and to check with your LMC, midwife or health professional before using. Soaking can cause stitches to dissolve too quickly.
When you’ve finished soaking pour the liquid from the sitz bath down the toilet through the holes in the back. Gently pat yourself dry with a clean towel. Clean the bath regularly with warm soapy water, wipe clean and hang to dry using the hook hole at the back.
