Product Description

Details

At The Sleep Store we are passionate about offering amazing products that help babies and children sleep better. This is why we are thrilled to have this gorgeously soft Merino fleece blend at The Sleep Store allowing us to give you this super lush range! We love having these Mini Onesies back in the range.

We have taken the feedback from our loyal fleece lovers and have put in the work to deliver our new-and-improved (and most fluffiest) Merino Fleece! The new Wool Rich blend is warmer, more robust and durable! It is thicker with a beautiful stretch and is made to last longer, giving you better value. This year our Merino fleece has a sweatshirt look and feel on the outside and a warm and fluffy, soft brushed merino finish on the inside that feels just delicious... they also get fluffier with each wash.

This snuggly mini onesie is definitely designed for sleep! It’s warm enough for kids who manage to kick off their covers, so they won’t wake up cold. It has a classic raglan sleeve so it's easy for arms to move about, cuffs at both the arms and feet and has a double ended zip for easy changing.

Why do we love Merino so much? Known as the 'miracle fibre' when it comes to infant sleep, Merino wool is a naturally temperature-regulating and moisture wicking fibre. It will help to keep your little one warm in winter but also cool in the warmer months without waking up clammy. It has the ability to naturally lock away odours, releasing them when washed or aired - this can mean less washing... yaye! Merino is also naturally fire retardant. Of course we recommend keeping your children well away from any heaters and fires ("a metre from the heater!") but Merino is a naturally low fire danger fabric.

About our sizing
Our own brand garments follow the Australasian standard AS1182-1997 for sizing and are made with room to grow. Our Size 2 clothing for example is made to fit the standard’s average sized 2.5 year old comfortably.

Tips on how to measure your child
Height/Length - Our height measurement doesn't include a child's head and neck length. Standing straight with a flat foot measure from the base of the heel up to either the top of the shoulder. You may find it easiest for younger children to stand with their back to a wall to do this. Make a small pencil mark on the wall at either the top of the shoulder or head and ask the child to step away before measuring from the floor up to the pencil mark.
Chest - Place tape measure under the arms and measure around the chest at the fullest part until your fingers meet.
Shoulder and arm - With arms down by the side and relaxed first measure from the wrist, over the shoulder, to the collar bone at the base of the neck. Sometimes referred to as the overarm measurement.
Hips - Measure below the waist at the fullest part of the hip bringing the tape measure round until your fingers meet.
Inside leg - With a flat foot, measure from the heel of the foot, up the inside of the leg to the crotch. Inside leg may sometimes be referred to as the inseam.

Please note - Measurements are taken when garments are laid flat. Areas such as chest, waist and hips are calculated at twice the width to get the full measurement.

How to Use

Materials & Care

Materials

Merino sleeping bags, bedding, swaddles and clothing are easy to care for when following the correct guidelines. Please see our care instructions card included with your garment.

Fabric
83% Australian Merino Wool, 17% Elastane (360gsm)
Woolmark Wool Rich Blend - 19.5 Microns
Certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX
Washing
Gentle machine or hand wash in cold or 30°C water with liquid wool wash
Drying
Dry immediately - lay flat or hang dry
When dry, gently shake free excess fluff

I'm naturally fluffy

These garments are naturally fluffy but washing separately for the first few washes will help the natural wool fibres on the inside to settle and will free any excess fluff.

Care for your merino

As with many wool garments, you may experience a bit of pilling on this garment. Please note this is often due to a soft fibre such as merino rubbing against other fabrics, such as flannelette sheets. We consider pilling a normal part of wear and tear on a soft merino garment. We could have treated the fabric much more to reduce pilling but then it would lose its lovely, snuggly softness.

Please take care with moths

Protect your Merino from small holes created by insects such as moths and silverfish. Ensure your garments are clean before storing. Lavender and Cedar wood are noxious to these pests so storing your garments with these scents or a moth trap will help protect your knitwear further.

Love your Merino and it will love you back!

What are the major differences between The Sleep Store Merino garments?

Jersey Merino
The jersey merino is super smooth and soft, feels like high quality t-shirt fabric and has a comfortable stretch to it - not as much as the deluxe merino rib. Great for all year round and is the lightest of the three types at 200gsm. Good for summer babies.
Deluxe Merino Rib
This is a rib knit merino meaning it's structure is made up of rows of stitching. This gives this merino a really beautiful stretch with cross grain elasticity. It is so soft and great for all year round at 220gsm.
Deluxe Merino Fleece
The most fluffy fleecy softness on the inside, with a sweatshirt look on the outside, and most definitely the warmest of them all at 360gsm.
