All Mabē products not only meet, but exceed, industry standards for compliance for textiles and baby carriers. Mabē are a U.S. based company, and the carriers are subject to federal regulation. They are CPSC and CPSIA compliant, tested to and having passed the most current ASTM standard for soft structured infant carriers, F2236-24 (which went into effect February 2025).

What Is the Weight Limit?
Tested by the manufacturer for a Minimum weight: 7 lbs/3.2kg*
Maximum weight: 35 lbs
For most babies this means up to around 2 years old!
*baby must be AT LEAST 7lbs/3.2kg, and able to be worn safely with the face visible above the head panel. Our Babywearing Consultants have found that it fits best from around 4 months of age due to a longer back panel and the width of the seat (even on its smallest setting). You must always ensure baby's face is visible and kissable, and airways remain unobstructed. What is the Size Range for the Wearer?
It has a wide range from XS-3XL!
The fully adjustable shoulder and waist straps ensure you and baby can achieve the perfect fit at almost every size.
(Waistband extends up to 55"/140cm and is intended to be worn high on the natural waist.)
Please note there is no chest clip on this carrier for use in the back carry position and that we have found it best fits wearers size 10 and above in this position.
Is the Monarch Carrier Hip Safe?
Yes! This carrier is carefully designed with hip safety in mind.
It is important to remember that hip safety comes down to correct positioning in any carrier. It is essential to achieve a deep seat or “M” position, with baby’s knees higher than their bum, and weight supported primarily by the bum, rather than under the knees.
We always recommend consulting your pediatrician or specialist for recommendations specific to your child's needs!
Check that your baby is in this deep seat position each time you place them in the carrier.
What Positions Can the Monarch Carrier be Worn In?
FRONT, INWARD FACING (babies of all ages)
BACKPACK (for babies 6mo+ who can sit up independently)
FRONT, OUTWARD FACING* (only for babies 6 months+ who can sit up independently, and are tall enough for chin to clear the head support panel.)
*Best for shorter periods of wear time, up to 20 minutes. Always turn baby inward when sleeping.

We offer fast, economical shipping to Australia, dispatched every week day from our Auckland, New Zealand warehouse. All items on our website are in stock, ready to dispatch (excludes pre-order). Please allow 3-5 working days for main centres, 5 working days for outside of main centres and up to 8 working days for heavy or bulky orders.
Shipping starts from $12 for small items. Just add your items to your cart and use the Shipping Estimator in the Mini Cart or Cart with your post code. Please double check your shipping in the checkout, particularly for large items which the estimator doesn’t accurately calculate.
All packages are sent with New Zealand Post and delivered by Australia Post.
Packages are labelled with a Signature with Authority to Leave if they are less than $300 value so delivery doesn’t require you to be home. Please let us know if you need Signature Required for security concerns.
